As a professional who teaches Internet Classes and also uses the Internet and Internet technologies to earn a living, I feel it necessary to provide this information about online defamation.

One of the most surprising and unfortunate facets of the Internet is the speed and ease with which a person can publish something which can recklessly damage and possibly destroy the reputation of a person, organization, or company.    Back in 1994, I found out the hard way, how a person's mean-spirited words could be used in cyberspace to inflict some of the worst pain and suffering anyone has ever caused me.  For those who would like to read more about this, there are three good hyperlinked reference articles below.  These articles cover most of the major legal aspects of online defamation and dangers of publishing false or damaging information on the Internet.  I used AltaVista to produce these references.

Please e-mail me if you have questions about online defamation.  Thank you for your interest.
